LOST SOUL Day 23

I'm back. I took a couple of days off in the end, just to recharge my batteries and to take stock of my rapidly escalating year.

The meeting I had on Saturday for another feature went very well and the producer wants me to go ahead and write the screenplay, after the contract is sorted out of course. It's a fantastic opportunity for me and a brilliant idea that I can't wait to get stuck in to. It's the kind of story I write well and love...but I will have to tell you more about it at a later date. First I must finish Lost Soul.

Better get to it.

The break has obviously done me a great deal of good, as the writing is really flowing well today.

Just to point out to those of you who think I'm only working on the Lost Soul, I do actually work on other stuff as well...at the same time. I know...madness, total madness!!!

Firstly I'm a community publisher for a local website and have to adhere to strict content deadlines. I'm also working on a TV pilot episode I wrote a few years ago, which I dragged out to rewrite. And then there's the emails, phone calls and research associated with networking and finding new work when this current project is finished. And to add unnecessarily to it all that I also look after both our kids (4 and 1) during the day while my wife is at work and do my share of the cleaning around the house. I know, I'm wondering where I find the time to fit it all in as well.

It all takes its toll and I was beginning to get a little fatigued. My wife has been telling me for a while to take a break, but stubborn as I am I haven't listened...until now. But I'm glad I did.

Back to it then....hold on, 1 year-old crying. Nappy change me thinks.

And I'm done...14 pages written tonight which means 93 pages in total.

I flew through a really powerful scene and was chocking up as I wrote it. It came out really well.

Now the script goes off to the script editor for his notes, then a quick tidy up before it goes off to the producer.

And relax :-)
